Meet the Board

Lewis “Dell” Daniel – President

Lewis Daniel is thrilled to be the President of BLT. He served as president of his high school drama club and hopes to bring this knowledge to BLT. His theater background mainly consists of backstage crews, Technical Director, and set design. It had been many years since he was ON stage when his daughter, Megan, “found” a part for him to play in CCT’s production of “Annie” as “Mr. Bundles.”

Lewis is a Special Projects Coordinator for DuPont. He hopes to use his organizational skills and his passion for theater and the many assorted areas associated with the theater to make BLT a nurturing and fun place to be a part of.

Meghan Grilliot – Vice President

Meghan Grilliot began her theater career as a young girl and has been a part of dozens of shows as an actor, director, stage manager, crew, and house manager.  After studying theater and education in college, she taught high school and was a guidance counselor before becoming a full time mommy to her 4 amazing daughters.  Being able to share her passion and love of the stage with her children has been the most amazing experience of her life.  She is absolutely thrilled to be taking on this new challenge to bring theater to children and families to share as well.

Sheri Daniel – Treasurer

Sheri Daniel is excited to be serving as BLT’s Treasurer. She is the mother of BLT actor Megan Daniel and the wife of BLT actor and President Lewis “Dell” Daniel. Sheri hasn’t found the calling to get up on stage, but she has found her niche as House Manager. Sheri has a degree in Finance from VCU and has been working in the accounting field for close to 20 years in various accounting offices.

Kristin Koontz – Secretary

Kristin is pleased to be serving as the Secretary for BLT. She found her love of theater and performing in elementary school and has never looked back. Studying music theatre in college, she graduated with a degree in Human Services with minors in theater and criminal justice. While spending the last seventeen years working in the law enforcement arena, Kristin has continued to volunteer in the theater community as an actor, director and stage manager.

She is a mother to four and cannot wait to pass along her love of the theater and her experience to her children, as well as those involved with BLT.

Heather Miles – Artistic Director

Heather is thrilled to be serving as Artistic Director for BLT.

Heather fell in love with musical theater at a young age. Once bitten with “the bug”, she began acting and singing in elementary, middle and high school productions. After taking a 20 year hiatus to raise children, Heather returned to the stage in 2010 and has been going strong ever since.  Heather enjoys all aspects of theater production including acting, directing, costuming, hair/makeup, as well as teaching.

Heather is the mother of two children: Kourtney Davis Poznanczyk and Carter Davis and the Grandmother of Quinn Lorraine Poznanczyk.  Heather enjoys spending time with her family and friends, ushering at local theatres like Virginia Rep, seeing as much theatre as she can, cooking, karaoke, listening to music, and watching nerdy television.

Kate Landis – Director of Public Relations

Kate began performing in elementary school and performed in theater productions and show choir throughout high school. Through college, her busy schedule only allowed time for performing at an occasional wedding ceremony…but she made her musical theater “comeback” in a production of Les Miserables—one of her favorite musicals—where she met and had the privilege of working with the like-minded theater enthusiasts who have created Broken Leg Theater. She is excited to now have the opportunity to combine her professional skills in marketing, communications, graphic design, and public relations with her passion for theater in this role on the board.

Her favorite musicals include Anything Goes, West Side Story, Cabaret, The Sound of Music, Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Last Five Years, If/Then, and Les Miserables. Her ultimate dinner party would include guests Stephen Sondheim, Sutton Foster, Idina Menzel, Darren Criss, Jonathan Groff, and Aaron Tveit.
